1. The definition of long glass fiber reinforced PP


Long glass fiber reinforced PP (LFTPP) product is a modified plastic material of long glass fiber reinforced PP. The material is generally columnar particles with a length of 12 mm or 25 mm and a diameter of about 3 mm.


In this kind of particle, the glass fiber has the same length as the particle, and the content of the glass fiber can range from 20% to 70%. The color of the particle can be matched according to customer requirements.


The particles can generally be used in injection and molding processes and can be used to produce structural or semi-structural parts. The application fields include automobiles, construction, home appliances, electric tools, and so on.

2. Long glass fiber reinforced PP performance advantages


LFT pellets enter the hopper of the injection machine. The inner fiber length is equal to the particle length, which is half an inch. With the intervention of process conditions such as the conveying of the screw of the injection machine, the impact of the fluid at the injection port and the flow in the material cavity, the average length of the glass fiber in the product is about 4 mm. Because the LFT material is similar to the excellent performance of reinforced engineering plastics and the PP base material relative to the engineering plastic base material and its low price cost, it gives the material an excellent cost-performance: Compared with the short fiber reinforced PA material, use LFT Materials can save about 40%-50% in material cost; now for short fiber reinforced PPO materials, the use of LFT materials can save more than 100% in material cost.


4. Long glass fiber reinforced PP market application


Automobile industry: front-end frame, body door panel template (inner door panel), instrument panel frame, cooling fan and frame, battery bracket, bumper bracket, car bottom protective plate, sunroof frame, etc., used to replace reinforced PA or metal materials. The application of this material in these fields has been greatly promoted in Europe, and the current consumption is 20,000T/Y.


Home appliance industry: washing machine drums, washing machine triangle brackets, air-conditioning fans, etc., used to replace short fiber reinforced PA, ABS materials or metal materials.


Others: power tool housing, water pump housing and impeller, etc., used to replace short fiber reinforced PA, PPO, etc.
