However, in the face of the two mainstream devices, infrared and ultraviolet, how should factories balance investment and effectiveness?
Researchers selected three of the most widely used modified plastics in the market - talcum powder flame-retardant PP, flame-retardant PC and 30% glass fiber reinforced flame-retardant PA. They conducted tests using 30W infrared and 1200W ultraviolet laser marking machines respectively under the same patterns and unified evaluation standards. The results show that infrared laser has clear handwriting on talcum powder flame-retardant PP and flame-retardant PC, but insufficient contrast on glass fiber flame-retardant PA. Overall, the effect is PC > PP > PA. Ultraviolet laser has been marked with high contrast on all three materials, and the overall effect is PC > PP > PA. However, when considering the overall purchase cost, for PP and PC parts, infrared is preferred as it offers the best cost performance. High-temperature resistant glass fiber PA parts are more suitable for ultraviolet use, as their quality is more stable.
In conclusion, through the selection of formula raw materials and special modification methods, the material can be easily engraved, with clear imprints, no yellowing and no carbonization.
